How Does Solar Work?
Solar power offers a clean, renewable energy source for power, direct to your home. It is completely versatile, offering pollution and noise free solutions.
Solar power has so many advantages and one of the biggest advantages is that solar panels produce zero carbon emissions once they’ve been manufactured and help to reduce the reliance on fossil fuels for our power grids.
Solar panels contain Photovoltaic Cells, also known as Solar Cells. The cells convert the sun’s energy into DC (Direct Current) power.
The DC power travels down a cable connected to your inverter which converts your DC power into 240V AC (Alternating Current) Power that you can use!
The solar electricity delivered by the inverter is consumed first inside the house with only the excess portion going into the power distribution grid. This excess is where you can make money from the energy you capture. Just as we can produce an excess of energy, if the energy demand within the house exceeds the amount currently provided by the PV plant, then the additional amount required is automatically drawn from the grid, which is where you decrease your electricity bill.
